United?

What does the ‘united’ in United States of America now stand for? What exactly during these contentious, deeply divisive, tragically troubled times does it mean? Were we ever united? Or is it just more boilerplate mythology that allows us to hide from the real truth? Can we ever rise above the conflict, confrontation, divisiveness, the ‘us’ (we the conquerors) vs. ‘them’ (slaves, Native Americans) world view, that was and still is the historical foundation for our national unity? Continue reading

Compassion Is The Fashion

There is something we could do something about right now. Something we should and must do. That’s ending the illegal, immoral, and self-sabotaging murder of innocents with drones. It’s estimated that just during the Obama presidency, as many as 900 completely innocent people have been killed by these diabolical weapons of our errant, self-defeating foreign policy. A lot of the dead are children. Continue reading

VIDEO BLOG: Trust No Incumbent

The bribery and blackmail has destroyed any semblance of representative government in contemporary America. We have learned our lesson. The faith both in our democratic system and the politicians we entrusted with the future of our nation and the quality of our lives was misplaced. The system has been corrupted by money and the trustworthiness of our “representatives” in public office been sabotaged. No more apologies. No more excuses. No more bullshit. Trust no incumbent! The Face of Courage

On September 18, 2001, the Authorization to Use Military Force was signed into law by President George W. Bush. It had passed 98-0 in the Senate and 420-1 in the House of Representatives. The one dissenting vote against the legislation that has sent this nation headlong into the abyss which we have been brainwashed into embracing as the War on Terror, was cast by Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA). Continue reading

The Day That Changed The World

The coming election will probably change nothing. The wars will go on. The plundering of our national wealth will continue. The waste of our valuable talents and energies through unemployment and underemployment will march forward. Social Security and Medicare will be chipped away until sometime in the future they are hollowed out and meaningless. The rich will get richer and most of us will be grateful for the few scraps we get. But we CAN change the world. Continue reading

Pledge: Medicare

Every version of the Ryan budget bill has represented a direct attack on Medicare. Any congressman who supports it is attempting to undermine an efficient program which has provided for the medical needs of millions of Americans. Such treachery must at all costs be confronted and stopped. Continue reading

Pledge: Social Security

This pledge should be presented to any congressman running for re-election this November, who recently voted for what has been termed the Ryan budget. A vote in favor of this horrifying piece of legislation amounts to a war cry for more military aggression and an attack on social security as we now know it. Continue reading
