Gridlock or Lockstep?
We may be down but we’re not out. Over the next couple weeks, follow a plan that will take any incumbent down who insists that his rich friends with the big check books are more important than you and I. Continue reading

Open Mind Surgery
Sometimes we need something to cut through the noise and nonsense we are constantly bombarded with, something which puts things in a new perspective. This short video with commentary by the astronomer-philosopher Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson is something I think does just that and which I hope we can all appreciate on some level. Continue reading

Chris Hedges: Speaking Truth To Power
In a OpEdNews essay titled “A Movement Too Big To Fail”, Chris Hedges explains why we must never compromise our values or temper our legitimate criticism of America. Continue reading
You Don’t Use A Microscope To Find The Cow That’s Left The Barn
In the two weeks Congress recently bickered over $61 billion in budget cuts, the country has borrowed three times that just to keep afloat. It’s time to get our national priorities straight and put our financial house in order. Continue reading

A New Commandment
I propose a new commandment. Not an 11th Commandment because ten is such a nice number (we have ten fingers, ten toes . . . well, most of us do). I suggest we replace the 10th Commandment . . . Continue reading

The Day That Changed The World
The coming election will change nothing. The wars will go on. The plundering of our national wealth will continue. The waste of our valuable talents and energies through unemployment and underemployment will march forward. Social Security and Medicare will be chipped away until sometime in the future they are hollowed out and meaningless. The rich will get richer and most of us will be grateful for the few scraps we get. But we CAN change the world. Continue reading →
