Dealing With A Serial Liar

Serial killers and career politicians are very similar. They both have us at their mercy. They both have the power of life and death over us. They don’t play by the same rules as you and I. They are ruthlessly amoral. There is only one way to deal with a serial killer. There is only one way to deal with lying politicians. They must be taken out of circulation. They must be isolated so they can never inflict abuse and suffering on others ever again. Continue reading

Dealing With A Serial Killer

There’s a serial killer on the loose. Eight to ten people a month have been murdered over the past several years. This has got to stop! So decide to get tough and pull out all of the weapons at our disposal: We take out full-page ads in the newspaper, have street demonstrations. We sell t-shirts, have lots of expert discussion on TV, we send emails, mount a huge telephone campaign, have a Town Hall meeting, and even organize a petition! It’s a smashing success. Everyone (who’s still alive) signs the petition! For some reason the killing doesn’t stop. Where did we go wrong? Continue reading

Russia: Scary Bear or Barely Scary?

We are being inundated with a lot of “scary Russia” propaganda these days. At the same time, it was not that long ago that Russia was portrayed as a second-rate power, a regional as opposed to a global player, a pathetic nation with a third-world economy. So which is it? Russia big and bad? Or Russia a laughable wannabee out of its league with the big boys in the geopolitical game? Continue reading

No Negotiating With Terrorists

U.S. terrorism expresses itself internationally as wars, regime changes, special operations missions, economic manipulation and interference, cyber and propaganda warfare, and is implemented with the forward-basing of troops and often outright military occupation of 140 countries. While we can find fault in the workings of the loose collective of institutions which make up what is now called the Deep State, much direct blame for our terrorism can be assigned to the CIA. We now have little choice. The CIA and all traces of it must be eradicated. “No negotiating with terrorists!” Continue reading

The Peace Dividend: Could It Really Happen?

When everyday people realize they have the power to demand this fraudulently collected tax payer money back in the form of a $14,952 refund to each and every living citizen, they might just get a little excited. In fact, if the word gets around, I predict they will immediately, forcefully, uncompromisingly demand their money back — every last dollar! Therefore, I’m now convinced that if we as peace advocates make the case for the Peace Dividend with boldness and clarity, success is inevitable. Yes! It could really happen. Continue reading

The Peace Movement in America: Status Report

The world is rushing headlong toward world war, risking nuclear annihilation and the end of the human race. Eliminating geopolitical idiocy, imperial hubris, and monomaniacal delusions of conquest by challenging our warmongering elites with an effective plan of action should be what shapes and defines the struggle of those noble organizations attempting to abolish war and promote peace throughout the world. Otherwise, the next time I file an update, the response will be … “What peace movement?” Continue reading

Asymmetry

Congress can impeach a president but a president can’t impeach Congress. Thus the real locus of government power resides in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Impeaching Trump will not eliminate what Trump represents. But replacing 450 corrupt pay-for-play congressman will and is how we truly make a difference that makes a difference. Continue reading

Line of Succession: Just when you thought it was safe to . . .

Trump is an easy target. But impeaching him accomplishes nothing. It merely sets up month-after-month, year-after-year of more impeachment hearings. What Trump represents will not go away just because he does. Regime change in Congress is the only option and the only viable place to focus our time, energy and creativity. There are 33 Senate seats and 435 House seats up for grabs in the 2018 election. That’s where our power resides. That’s how we mount a real revolution and turn back the tide of corporate totalitarianism. Continue reading

A Nation of Relentless Savagery

We kill efficiently. We kill without remorse. We kill without hesitation. In 2016, the final year in office for our Nobel Peace Prize president, the U.S. dropped 26,171 bombs on seven countries, none of which have attacked America, none of which we are officially at war with. History will judge the U.S. as Martin Luther King, Jr. did in his historic address: “The greatest purveyor of violence in the world …” When you file your return on April 15th, recall that this is where a nice chunk of your tax dollars went last year. Continue reading

All boats rise in a rising tide? Really?

Wealth is a zero-sum game. Thus, all boats in an economic environment don’t rise with the tide. Some are swamped and sink. We now have the most grotesque levels of wealth inequality in history, both in the United States and across the globe. Continue reading
