Margaret Kimberley Interview (Video): An Objective Look at U.S. Foreign Policy

“Hegemons don’t have friends”, notes Margaret Kimberley. “They only have enemies and vassals.” That’s why the U.S. in its attempt to rule the world is becoming so disrespected and despised — and of course distrusted and feared. Margaret Kimberley doesn’t hold back one iota in this thought-provoking interview. Continue reading

January 6 Gave Revolution A Bad Name

The sad thing about January 6 ā€” and everybody knows what Iā€™m referring to because the Alice in Wonderland narratives around are still being milked by pundits and politicians alike ā€” is that it had both sides working to make sure it flopped, that instead of representing an actual challenge to power or a wake-up call to the public or a warning label for the buffoons and criminals now holding office, it was a huge embarrassment, an unfunny joke, a reminder that politics is Pro Wrestling, only without sexy ring girls. Continue reading

The Peace Dividend: Some Perspective

There is a powerful reason why the Peace Dividend project should target those Trump voters, who are becoming increasingly disenchanted with the orange demagogue. With the current insane drive to war, the risks of starting WWIII, the potential for nuclear annihilation, we need EVERYONE on board. As Trump and his neoliberal/neocon assault troops continue to wreak havoc — picture coming military conflicts and the inevitable crash of the economy this year or next — the masses will be singularly outraged, hungry for REAL ACTION. The Peace Dividend offers a simple direct decisive plan of action. Continue reading

Megaphonics

Each of us is identified with a nation. We both have the rights and privileges that are conferred by citizenship, and likewise have a stake in what that nation does in our name, hence a responsibility not just to be aware of those activities but to be discerning, and laudatory or critical when necessary. The logical extension of this is that it is vitally important we each decide what kind of nation we want America to be, and to share that vision with others. Continue reading

Putting Boots (Birkenstocks) on the Ground: Part I

A president is a lightning rod. But a president is not the lightning. We the people are the lightning. We the people are the energy, the force, the real movers-and-shakers behind fundamental change. We the people and only we the people can shape the future we want. Continue reading

The BS Challenge

Cheer leading and hero-worship are the easy part. Revolution is hard work. So here’s my challenge to all those people feeling the Bern. Are your hearts truly filled with the awe-inspiring message of Bernie Sanders? Are you ready to do some heavy-lifting? Or is Chris Hedges right? Is this just more BS along the historical road to disintegration and collapse? If you’re serious, there’s important work to be done. Continue reading

You say you want a revolution?

Is ‘revolution’ the new ‘LOL’? Will the profound need for radical transformation be trivialized and gutted of any substance by empty campaign rhetoric and fatuous sloganeering? Continue reading

I’m not worried … yes, I am … no, not really … well, maybe a little.

Did the Pope mention Alfred E. Neuman during his recent visit to the U.S.? Continue reading

Throw the bums out!

Either we rise up now in a bloodless coup at the polls or we rise up later in the streets. Revolution in the streets will not be bloodless and I suspect it won’t end well. It’s up to us to make the choice. Continue reading
